The Sony Ericsson TM506 is yet another 3G smart phone from the Sony Ericsson stable with a pleasant array of features and a pleasing design.

Although Sony Ericsson doesn’t try to make a bold style statement with this phone, the TM506 is a very attractive and sturdy piece of hardware. It is very slim at 0.7 inches thickness and weighs in at 3.4 ounces, giving a sleek look to the phone. The Sony Ericsson TM506 will look equally impressive in the boardroom as well as a night club. The hinge also feels very strong and reliable when opening and closing.

The internal 2.25 inch display is colorful and vibrant with customizable brightness. Viewing photos and videos and playing games is a treat on this screen. The Sony Ericsson TM506 stands up to Sony Ericsson’s tradition of making great mobile displays.

The controls on the TM506 mobile phone’s keypad are very easy to use. It features a circular toggle and a central OK button, surround by raised ring so that they can be easily differentiated. The others keys are also well laid out, while the keys are flat, but large enough so that it prevents misdials. There is a dedicated power button conveniently placed at the bottom of the keypad.

As in another other phone from the Walkman series, listening to music through the provided Sony TM506’s headphones is a pleasure and the quality lives up to Sony Ericsson’s reputation. Being a 3G enabled phone, it offers a good browsing experience and also good call quality. At its price, the Sony Ericsson TM506 offers good bang for the buck and we have no hesitation in recommending it to anybody looking for a good 3G phone.

Sony Ericsson w350a

The Sony Ericsson w350a is perfect for music lovers as it allows users to carry their music wherever they go. The design is similar to that of a candy bar and the body of the phone is extremely sleek. The phone has a signature music player, bluetooth, a 1.3 megapixel camera and the standard FM radio. The w350a weighs about 2.8 ounces and is available in a variety of colors, namely, ice blue, graphic white and electric black.

The Sony Ericsson w350a offers emailing opportunities through Yahoo!, AOL and BellSouth. The user can send regular text messages, multimedia messages as well as video clips.

The feature that makes the Sony Ericsson w350a popular is the control flip that allows the user to hide the menu keys, the d-pad and ofcourse the numeric keypad. With the help of this phone feature, the user can make calls with the flip open and listen to music with it closed. A slider on the tip of the w350a allows the user to lock the phone.

When compared to other phones, the buttons on the Sony Ericsson w350a’s side are limited. It only has a key on the left which controls the music and another on the right which allows the user to change the volume. The cover of the battery is easy to open and the speaker of the Sony w350a is situated below this cover. Even though the keypad is large enough for the user to type comfortably, the Sony Ericsson w350a is slightly slippery- which is a definite negative point.

The Sony Ericsson T630 was announced in the year 2003 and was a better version of the Sony Ericsson T610. It weighed about 92 grams and offered a TFT screen. The Sony Ericsson T630 is available in two colors namely, black and white. However, black was available only in a few areas and countries.

The design of the Sony Ericsson T630 is sleek and is similar to the iPhone. The keys are transparent and the design is retro. The back of the phone was designed in a way that made it seem like a camera when the user moved it to one side. A few new features here and there add to the look of the T630 and give it a classier feel.

The phone is sturdy and has a solid structure. The T630 is about 1.78 inches in length and offers a variety of screensavers and wallpapers. The only problem with the design of the phone is that it gets dirty quite easily as fingerprints settle on it after a few uses. The internal memory of the Sony Ericsson T630 is about 2MB. However, the phone does not come equipped with a card slot. Therefore, the user has to make do with the internal memory and cannot buy an additional card.

The Sony Ericsson T630 features like Infrared and Bluetooth allows the user to transfer information and pictures without any difficulty and the USB port is reliable. The battery is standard and offers talktime upto 14 hours and standby upto 315 hours. Apart from that, the user can store upto 30 missed, received and dialed calls on the phone.
