It has been confirmed finally. Google is indeed going to introduce an Android powered Motorola tablet. This tablet will utilize Honeycomb which is a mobile operating system meant for smart phones. Apparently, this mobile OS Honeycomb is being updated for use in tablets.

The prototype for this Motorola tablet was unveiled by Google Vice President for Engineering Andy Rubins during the D: Dive into Mobile conference held at San Francisco.

It is rumored that this Honeycomb tablet is being introduced to give direct competition to Apple’s iPad tablet which was launched few months back!

Speculations are rife about the features and specification of the new tablet and what it has to offer. Few things however have been confirmed. For instance, Honeycomb Motorola Tablet will boast of a 3D processor from NVIDIA. The new APIs will allow the application to be split the functionality into multiple views.

The upcoming tablet will also feature GMAIL application with 2 pane view which is quite similar to the GMAIL application on iPad.

Here are some speculations made about the Honeycomb Tablet

•A full 10 inch or 9. Inch screen quite similar to iPad.
•Video chatting facilities just like the FaceTime application being introduced in the upcoming iPad 2.

Motorola Honeycomb tablet will release sometime in next year. Only then it would be decided if this Android powered tablet will be one up over iPad or not!

Looks like Motorola doesn’t want to lose out on its excessive popularity gained recently due to their high tech smartphone Droid. The company has now launched its new phone called Motorola Droid X in lieu of the Apple’s iPhone 4. It is not the first time that both the corporate giants have come to loggerheads over mobile marketship. Interestingly, Droid was launched by Verizon, Google and Motorola to break the monopoly of Apple iPhones. This Droid X thus comes as a no surprise when Apple is gearing up for the release of iPhone!

Let’s take a look at this new offering by Droid

Motorola Droid X

This smart phone which runs on the popular and powerful Android 2.1 OS will also support the new Android 2.2 update once it comes out. This is in fact good news for all Android lovers! In addition, this would be the first Android phone ever to feature the DLNA software which allows you interoperability and connectivity with other devices. In fact one can just connect their mobiles with home theatres through HDMI ports in the phone.

Although some of its other specifications are modeled on the same line as iPhone 4. The biggest lies in their operating systems. The buzz is in the market is that Droid X might take over the mobile world when Android 2.2. update becomes available. Currently at 1.0 GHz this mobile provides exceptional speed and features! With the new update, this phone will surely rock!

Here are some other specifications of the Motorola Droid X
•	Android 2.1. OS
•	1.0 GHZ processor
•	512 mb RAM
•	4.3 inch screen
•	854X480 pixels
•	720p HD video
•	8 mega pixel camera with dual LED flash
•	Bluetooth
•	DNLA
•	Wi-fi
•	Accelerometer
•	Light sensor
•	GPS
•	3G mobile hot spot tethering
•	3 microphones
•	8 GB internal memory
•	16GB or 32GB micro SD card
•	1570 mAh battery

In the conclusion one can say that Droid X has got all the factors to make it big in the Smartphone market. But to say that it is in altogether another league of iPhone 4, well, that would be too early to comment upon.

Microsoft when launched its new pink slider touch phones series didn’t just targeted to take on the Apple’s iPhones but also the second largest popular phone in demand these days i.e. Droid, to be more precise the Motorola Droid. Now Motorola too has launched its new phone in competition with the iPhones in order to claim its stake again as the mobile king which it sadly failed to repeat after MotorRazr. There are quite a few who would agree over this point that Droid is no doubt a tough competitor for the iPhones and other similar smartphones flitting in the market these days. However, Microsoft is a name which has been synonymous with tremendous success in the IT business and its windows phones at one point of time did generate commendable response. It would be quite interesting to see a competitive analysis of both these phones who have been launched to break down the monopoly of Apple smartphones.

Here’s a general look at both these phones

The selling feature and highlight of this phone is its powerful Android 2.0 operating system. In addition, you get an enhanced facilitation of social networking sites, advanced Google navigation map and attractive design. Droid’s exterior boast of glass and metallic finish with thin gold lines working round its body. The strong QWERTY touchpad below the glass body renders you a PC like quality.

Well over the past few days lots have been said and speculated about the Motorola Droid – its release date, features, apps etc. Its quite similar to the hype created by the likes of iPhone, Blackberry Storm etc. before their launch. Some ended up meeting the user expectations and some fell short.

Motorola Droid Apps were an integral part of the launch campaign of the phone. Motorola boasts of its open development process, something which may result in it having more apps even that the mighty iPhone. Motorola Droid adverts claim its superiority over the Apple iPhone in the quality and features of the apps its going to offer. Multiple Motorola Droid apps can be run simultaneously claim their advertisement. Few of the other features they highlight are the capabilities of its camera – that can take pictures in the dark. These features are not available in the iPhone and Motorola would be looking to take a lot of leverage from these factors.

However, where I feel the Motorola Droid would certainly not be able to catch up with the iPhone is in its capabilities as a music phone. The music apps in the Moto Droid would probably now be anywhere close to that of the iPhone.

Looking forward to get further information on the Motorola Droid apps. The iPhone has been in for some time now – I guess it now deserves some good competition!
