If your Motorola droid is connected to wi-fi, but does not connect to web, here are troubleshooting solutions:

In the Wi-Fi settings, manually assign a static IP to the phone. These settings should work with most routers that are still using their default configuration:

When in the Wi-Fi settings menu, press menu and select “Advanced”
IP address: 192.168.0.233

Gateway: 192.168.0.1 (this is the router’s address, which is default for most routers. Do check this in your router’s configuration)

Netmask: 255.255.255.0

DNS 1: 208.67.222.222 This is an open dns which should work for everyone.

DNS 2: 208.67.220.220

You don’t have to use open DNS for your DNS settings but it works for troubleshooting. I don’t like relying on my router for DNS so that’s what I normally use. This isn’t a long term fix, but it will help to see if it’s your phone or your router. Your phone might not be getting an IP from the router properly. Also check for mac address filtering. If you have that setup on your router, it might be an issue. In addition, if you don’t have the router setup to give out more than a couple of IP’s, your phone might not be able to get one.

You can also try changing the Basic Rate to 1-2 Mbps and see what happens. This works for some people as well. Reboot the phone once this is done.
