Google's Aptera 2e

The Aptera 2e has been among the hot topics with regards to the future of automobile design. And we have been treated to a few of its prototypes. The Aptera 2e was tentatively named the Aptera Typ-1 and has seen a lot of development in the past 2 years. Aptera have now revealed some specifications of the vehicle, which will give us a good idea of what we can expect from the vehicle once the vehicle hits the roads.

Aptera 2e electric car is a being jointly developed by Google and Aptera motors. Google intends to invest over 5.5 million dollars in the development of new electric cars.

The Aptera 2e is already available for pre-order in California and Aptera have revealed that they have orders in excess of 4000 at the moment and are expecting many more.

Aptera haven’t yet revealed any details on the battery supplier or power output at this stage. Even the motor type of the Aptera 2e hasn’t been revealed but in the light of the fact that it has regeneration, we guess that it is most probably a BLDC or AC induction type. The output could be around 100 hp rotating at over 13000 rpm.

The Aptera 2e will feature many safety features like the remote keyless entry system and the driver airbag system. To keep you informed about the status of wheels, the car will be fitted with a Direct Tire Pressure Monitor system. There are many more features to ensure that there is minimal damage in case of accidents, so you must feel safe sitting inside the Aptera 2e.

Since Aptera have revealed the specs for the Aptera 2e, the market has heated up even more and we can’t wait to lay our hands on this marvelous piece of engineering.

If you do have the fortune to own the three-wheel, two seat electric car, you are sure to find people taking pictures of the Aptera 2e where you park.

As odd as the Aptera 2e looks, it is very silent for the power it delivers and no one would know it is there, unless they set their eyes on it. The Aptera 2e can comfortably seat 2 people and has a lot of space for any luggage that you would want to carry.

The electric car features superb air conditioning and a feature-rich navigation system. The back window is really narrow but that won’t create problems viewing at the back since it has a brilliant video camera with night vision that provides a 180 degree view of what’s behind your vehicle.

The Aptera 2e does not feature a transmission. On the contrary, the front wheels get power directly from the motor. A simple knob on the dashboard allows you to select from among the three driving modes on offer viz. D1, D2, and D3, of which D2 is for normal driving.
