Google Adds Google Voice Calls To Gmail

The end of august brought a long awaited confirmation from Google regarding its new feature Google Voice Calls in GMAIL. All the Gmail users will now be able to make voice calls over the net and landlines/mobile phones throughout the world.

It has been in speculation for months now and the announcement from Google about voice calls has managed to create a buzz in the market. In fact, Skype the reigning king of internet voice calls is said to be concerned regarding this recent development.
These voice call service will be free of cost within U.S. and Canada.

Dell is not an unknown name in the computer world. Known for its smart computers and studio notebooks, this company has a sound reputation for its innovative use of latest technology. Nokia N8 Prices Revealed

Its new, it’s cool and it is now available within a corporate price range! Nokia has finally revealed the price tag for one of its much awaited phones this year i.e. Nokia N8. The phone which will be made available at the end of this September is expected to create ripple in the mobile market.

Nokia N8 is priced at US dollar 549 and its Indian price is fixed at Rupees 25,000. At first glance one might find this phone a little pricey but after going through its amazing specifications, no one would find a reason to complain!

This Nokia phone features a 3.5 inch capacitive AMOLED touch screen with capacitive stylus. Its 12 megapixel camera which can shoot HD videos is the most attractive feature so far! Nokia N8 is a multimedia powered phone which is well capable of tickling the imagination of the most hardcore of tech geeks. Should Medical Professionals get an iPhone or Android?

Before deciding between the two smartphones i.e. iPhone or Android one should first decide whether or not a medical professional needs a smartphone altogether? If you have to use a phone just to make some calls and not access patient files on PDA etc. Then a smartphone is not for you. In fact there medical application features would be quite a waste for you. On other other hand, if you need to travel a lot and require the use of 3G internet connection to view patient data and other medical files, then a Smartphone like iPhone or Android is recommended

To find out which smartphone is suitable for health professionals, we have segregated the differences into following

Contract basis
Apple iPhone is exclusively available on AT& T network so if you are a Verizon subscriber then Android or a Blackberry smartphone is most suitable to you.

Rural settings
If your work compels you to travel to rural and interior sections of the country then one must know that AT& T 3G connection is not that strong. As a matter of fact, it barely works in the rural settings. It is more successful in big cities.

However, Verizon network works excellent even in rural far off areas and gives you strong 3G internet connection.
One more point to consider here is if you really do need the use of internet connection to access data files or medical papers. Only then the Android Smartphone would be more apt for you.

Security & Enterprise
Blackberry phone so far has been the best when it comes down to effective IT security and Blackberry Enterprise server is considered most successful for medical professionals. In addition its email client is also something to write back home about!

New iPhone 4 is claiming to come with all the above mentioned security measures in its new operating system i.e. OS 4.

Apple’s App Store boasts of quite a lot of medical applications for mobile phones as compared to Android or even Blackberry market.

The major difference between apple’s iPhone app store and Android’s application store is the absence of streamline operating system on Android.

Granted it is more easy to put iPhone 4 in sync with personal iTunes library but it is also true that Android smartphone proves to be more easily accessible when it comes down to music!

Android Phone- It is the best option for a medical professional but only if he doesn’t have an AT&T network. A comparison between camera speed of iPhone 4, Droid X, SPRINT HTC EVO 4 and Canon Powershot SD4000 digital camera

Smartphones are known for their high resolution camera application. To decide which is the best mobile camera amongst smartphones of various companies is like deciding which part of the rainbow is more colorful!

Thus an analysis was conducted over the cameras of 3 of such smartphones currently active in the market along with a digital camera by Canon, just to check the narrowing distance between a mobile camera and D-SLR!

The comparison is based upon the speed of the camera divided into three parts
Start up speed
Shutter lag
Shot to shot time

Start Up time
It is counted as the time between the start of the camera application to the time first image is clicked! Average start up speed [in seconds] for smartphones and Canon camera as follows

HTC EVO- 3.50
Droid X- 2.87
Canon SD4000-2.31

One can significantly see the start up time is indeed better for Canon only, but the difference is almost negligible between camera and iPhone 4!

Shutter Lag
Shutter lag is the time taken for a photo to be clicked once the shutter button is pressed. People mostly complain about the camera being sallow due to slow capture.

Time for Microsoft to take the reins of business back in its hands! The IT giant is ready with its much awaited Windows 7 mobile phones. These phones have already created buzz in the market since the announcement in February of this year. It is a clear coupe to break the monopoly of reining kings of smartphones i.e. Apple iPhones.

Since their introduction, iPhones have completely taken over the hold of mobile market in every possible way. But now the rumors are getting ripe about Windows 7 phones and the high possibility of them taking over the undefeatable so far, iPhones.

But how would Windows 7 phone prove to be a better option than iPhone?

There are several reasons for the trade pundits to believe in the Windows 7 phones and their potential to take over the phone series!

•Operating system- Windows 7 phone has adapted a new slicker, smooth and attractive OP which works on the same lines as those IOS and Android phones. This operating system gels the components well together like X box live gaming, Zune multimedia, social media, personal media like photos and videos, third party applications in what we call as HUBS!

The Priciest Part On iPhone 4-Retina Display

Iphone 4 is the most expensive phone till that is Apple iPhone 4. This claim is being duly supported by the part by part cost analysis of the phone. The total estimated cost of iPhone 4 came out to be $187.51 for 16 GB version. This is higher than the estimated cost of iPhone 3GS [$178.96] and HTC nexus One [$174.15].

This total cost was estimated after the prices of each component were recorded individually. These prices were in turn taken from the manufacturer of those components. However, this total estimated cost doesn’t include other charges like- Apple’s development costs, shipping charges, advertising costs etc.

One thing that came out from this cost analysis was that the iPhone 4’s priciest part is its ‘Retina Display’. It is said to be developed by LG at the cost of $28.50 which is 15.2% of the total cost. This retina display which is 3.5 inch thick and boasts of a 960 by 640 resolution hasn’t been used in any other electronic product till date. In fact, it is being marketed as display with a higher resolution than even a human eye!

The pixel density is much higher than 1080p which speaks a lot about the quality and clarity of picture on your mobile screen. There is also a protective layer on the touch screen which is scratch resistant and maintains the vivid color display.

The next costliest part on iPhone 4 after retina display is NAND flash memory, produced by Samsung and priced at 27. Its 14% of the total cost!

Five Possible Bugs in the New iPhone 4

Apple’s iPhone 4 came with the bang in the mobile world! Although its reception has been warm so far, the reports regarding some trouble brewing in its functioning cannot be ignored. Here are five of such possible bugs in the new iPhone 4 based on the feedback of few of the first customers of this iPhone!

Heated Body
It has been experienced by certain users that due to iPhone 4 radio, the phone starts heating up after some time. Since the outer back of the phone is done up in glass, the heat can be felt more clearly. However, with a firmware update this issue can be resolved!

Terrible Reception
This is what can be defined as the ‘death grip’. It means losing the reception or signal when the antenna gets accidentally covered by your hand. This has been seen in several phones. But the basic problem with iPhone 4 is that it doesn’t boast of a great reception to start with.

Battery Run Out
The iPhone 4 battery usage time is 6 hours 14 minutes which is quite impressive on paper! The battery burns itself out just after 13 hours of moderate usage! This issue too has been seen in previous phones like SPRINT HTC EVO 4G and iPhone 3GS.

Screwed Up Screen!
There have been some reports about seeing yellow spots on the screen display of iPhone 4. Apple has indeed taken the innovative path with the use of 3.5-inch, 960-by-640 IPS LCD screen [no other electronic product is using this specification]. But the yellow spots on iPhone 4’s screen display are indeed a reality too which needs to be checked!

Wobbly Proximity Sensor
The proximity sensor of iPhone 4 becomes a bit wobbly especially when you restore the phone from a back up of an earlier iPhone. The phone hangs up in the middle of calls due to this proximity sensor issue. It can be resolved by setting your iPhone 4 as a new phone in iTunes!

These five possible bugs in iPhone 4 may or may not survive as it all depends on Apple’s innovation and technology!
