Nintendo DS Lite

The Nintendo DS Lite is a slimmer and sleeker version of the Nintendo DS, with a few hardware changes. However, its layout is largely similar to that of the Nintendo DS. It is designed at 0.83 by 2.83 by 5.25 and weighs at 7.66 ounces. The top and bottom of the DS Lite are symmetrical unlike its predecessor which has an oversized bottom.

The twin vertically tired screens, however, are of the same in size. The bottom screen is a touch screen which allows the use of a stylus or your finger for actions like moving character or selecting options. The cartridges used on Nintendo DS Lite are proprietary and they are sized in between SD cards and CompactFlash cards and have smaller in capacity than those of Sony’s PSP, but have much faster load times. Hence the smaller capacity actually serves to improve the capability of the DS Lite.

The DS Lite offers good Wi-Fi compatibility given that it is freely hosted by Nintendo. Setting up the Wi-Fi on this handheld game console is pretty simple and it easily recognizes other devices in its vicinity. In absence of Wi-Fi devices, you can use a USB to Wi-Fi connector provided with the product to convert a PC into a Wi-Fi device.

The graphics quality for games on the Nintendo DS Lite is decent enough to ensure good gaming experience. With its growing list of great innovative games and a brighter screen than the DS, this Nintendo product is a worthy upgrade to the original DS.
